Advancing knowledge about restricted irrigation strategies on commercial peach plantation under Mediterranean condition

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different restricted irrigation strategies on peach trees. Sustainable and regulated deficit treatments were applied during 2018/2019 production season in a commercial plot “Bénédicte” variety located at Atlas Mountain’s region Morocco. Five tested: T1, T2 T3 with an application respectively 125% (over-irrigation), 100% (control) 75% (deficit-irrigation) Crop Water Requirement (CWR) throughout whole crop cycle; These classified under Deficit Irrigation (SDI). Regulated (RDI) comprising T4, T5 which correspond applications ETc 50% pit hardening stage (PH), rest cycle. The results showed that deficient had no effect vegetative growth parameters.A downward trend average fruit weight size harvest observed treatment. A significant increase sugar content compared control T2. With regard biochemical parameters, treatment (T5) recorded highest proline response water stress, followed by T4. Therewas difference between yields SDI RDI treatments, but T4 produced arelatively higher yield 47 T/Haamong treatments.Thisled use efficiency (WUE) performance ranking: 10.63 kg/m 3 , (75% PH) second place WUE 9.6 finally 9.35 .
